Indigenous Child Well-Being: An Atlantic Canada Summit October 10-11, 2018 Delta Prince Edward Hotel, Charlottetown, PEI (902) 566-2222 The Mi'kmaq Confederacy of PEI is pleased to be working with Indigenous Services Canada to host the first Indigenous Child Well-Being - An Atlantic Canada Summit. The objectives of this summit are to: • Share current practices and experiences in First Nations Child and Family Services, particularly in the areas of legislation, prevention and protection, in the four provinces of Atlantic Canada; • Further discuss potential implementation of Atlantic Canada of the Federal Government’s Commitment to Action for Indigenous Child and Family Services Reform (six point action plan) with the four Atlantic Provinces; and, • Establish a network of First Nations Child and Family Services agencies in Atlantic Canada. MCPEI will be covering expenses for Atlantic Canada First Nation participants only. Provincial and federal government participants are responsible to have their expenses covered by their respective organizations. A block of rooms will be held at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel until September 24. As the Confederacy will be booking your accommodations, it is important that you register before September 21. Room and taxes will be direct-billed to the Confederacy. Please register on-line at Provincial and federal government participants are to book their own hotel rooms asking for the Atlantic Canada Indigenous Child Well Being Summit rate. Accommodations will be covered for the nights of October 9 & 10. If required, additional accommodations (October 11) will be covered for those traveling more than 400KMs one way. Kilometers will be reimbursed at your provincial rate as specified by the government of Canada (we encourage participants to carpool) and an incidental of $17.30 for each overnight will also be provided. Breakfast and lunch will be served as part of the conference. Per diems for dinner ($48.15) on October 9 & 10 will be provided.
